Teacher provides students with a definition of a Simile.
Teacher reads the poem for the class and students give their interpretation of the poem.
Student identify similes in the poem and relate them to their interpretation of the poem.
Students are placed in groups.
Each group is given a simile from the poem to analyze and dramatize..

Closure:
Teacher discusses definition of Simile and explains that students need to always show a comparison between two items with a similar feature
