Iluvatar: The One, created the first Ainur. Like a supreme being, creator.
Yavanna: Wife of Aule, Giver of Fruits. Lover of all things that grow in the earth and has many forms.
Mandos: Gatekeeper of underworld, like Hades, both the person and the place
Melkor: First dark lord, used to be the most powerful of the Valar, like Loki
Ulmo: Lord of Waters, keeps to himself in the sea. Governs all bodies of water, including fountains.
Orome: Mighty angry Lord. Lord of the Forests, loves tree and hunting. One of the most powerful warriors
Manwe: Appointed to be the First King of all Kings (ruler of Arda) and became the mightest, overriding Melkor. Associated with the sky, weather, rain, lightening.
Aule: Lord of all substances made in Arda. Both him and Melkor want to invent something unthought of, long dipute between them.
Sauron: Servant of Melkor, almost as evil as him, and will stand at his side during the final war.
