In GENESIS, man and woman are created in the 'image' and likeliness of God. Humans are similar to Him, such as the human capacity to love or the level of sentient ability humans have. Human beings are seen as unique among all the creatures of the earth. Due to us being made in the 'image' of God, we are the breath of life or the spirit f God, endowed with divine qualities. - making taking a life wrong. Christian thinker, LACTANTIUS said God has made humankind as a sacred animal and so humankind has dignity (worth/sanctity). This sanctity means that human life shouldn't be sacrificed. Life is identified as a gift from God. In some traditions, so precious that it falls beyond things human beings have authority over making euthanasia prohibited according to religion.
