PEACE
IN ISLAM
“The servants of the Lord of Mercy are those who walk humbly on the earth, and who, when aggressive people address them, reply, with words of peace.” [Qur’an 25:63]
'Islam' comes from the Arabic 'salam' (=peace); the common greeting ‘as-salamu alaikum’ means ‘peace be with you’.

God has given humankind the ability to make choices. If some decide to fight without just cause, it is nnot the fault of God or Islam, because the choice to fight is contrary to the will of God and the teachings of the faith.
IN CHRISTIANITY

Many Christians disagree with war and try to prevent it from happening. Quakers are pacifists, so never take part in a war.
In the Old Testament, the prophet Isaiah looks forward to a time when God will bring peace:
“He will judge between the nations and will settle disputes for many peoples. They will beat their swords into ploughshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore.” Isaiah 2:4

Christians and Muslims believe fighting in self-defence or defence of faith can be justified. Fighting without just cause is against God's will.
PEACE
hard to achieve after a war, as aftermath is often instability, suffering + resentment
-
a dove carrying an olive branch is a symbol for peace, based on the dove that in the Bible Noah sent from the arch to see if there was land, and which returned with an olive branch
