- - - - Its his birthday party. All is going well until the guards of Tyrus arrive looking for cat people after a tip. Will is helping when he is knocked to the ground and the shard drops to the floor.
        
        The group of guards see the shard and pick it up. They know what it is. They know what it means now its back and how much the king would pay for it.
        
        The man holding the shard is shot with an arrow and Will takes the shard, running for the woods. He is chased but meets with Greeves who kills them, all but one who escapes. He sends word to the king.
        They meet with Kat and Robert and head into the forest as cat people are slaughtered around them.
        
        They are walking through the forest when Raunch threatens them. Greeves subdues him and he is now a prisoner. They walk north to the Watchtower under blackmail of Kat being hurt..
        
        They play the watchers game. It is revealed to Will that Raunch was the man who killed his father.
        
        They leave with the second shard but Will still does not have any reason to find the third shard. Why should he? He wants to be rid of it despite being chosen and the prophecy. Will is so angry at Raunch and does not say a word to him, though the watchers say he must stay with them.

        After a close encounter on her life, Katrian takes a chance to leave the island and head to Greinfeld where she still has friends. She stows away on a ship.
        
        She reaches Greinfeld but it is already burnt to ash and the cat people and men alike lay slaughtered on the floor. She returns to her and Edmund's home and looks at where they hid the shard - it is empty. She smiles as she knows that Will found it.
- - - - He learns of the prophecy that Will will bring about the end of men. He is tasked with befriending Will so that the watchers can stop him.
        
        On his travels, he meets Greeves.
        
        The two of them share stories before Greeves abandons him

- - - - The mutiny happens and percy explains some of why he did it. Saying that he received a large sum of money for it. The buyer only wanted the ship, nothing else and it wasnt personal.
        
        Jack kills percy, saving the captain and Eveyln. The war continues however. Whilst fighting, the wind changes and the boat is forced against rocks and into the Drudgen's den.
        
        The captain is wounded along with Jack in the den and the boat is battered.
        
        They arrive at port and make their way towards Fort Walden.
        
        In the fort, we learn more about the lore and the plans that the king has. We are introduced to House Evion and more is explained about the war of the cat people.
        
        After the captain is back up on his feet with a walking stick, he delivers the message. The message says something along the lines of "Lord Brandon of House Evion, Ruler of Fort Walden and Watcher of the Mourning Mountains, it comes with deepest regret to give the order that you are hereby removed from all duties and stripped of all titles and lands you own. As a traitor to the crown and supportive house of the usurper, Lord Tyrus, you have been exiled from Cratea from this day until your last. Your lands and title will be held from now on by Captain (evelyns dad) as a reward for his service to the crown and country, All hail King Jahd Fraedos. The Sight have judged you and you have been found guilty"
