Moral Intuition Hypothesis
We feel strong emotions in certain moral situations, and reach a moral judgement intuitively and then we engage in rationale and logical analyses to provide rationales for our judgement. Supporting the moral intuition hypothesis, research has found that people make harsh moral judgements when:
-They are hypnotised with a feeling of disgust
-There is a slight bad/disgusting smell in the environment
-They have watched a disgust-inducing video
