Should students have to wear school uniforms?
2 MA: Uniforms connect a school and makes the school look organized and tidy.
If a child gets lost on a field trip where other schools are present, it is easy to identify the child because of the uniform they are wearing. Unlike any other ordinary schools were most of the children are wearing jeans and hoodies, the child can be identified and can be found a lot quicker.
When a school uniform is worn, the children look smart and educated when going out into a public place. When a child is wearing such casual clothes that they look like they are wearing pyjamas, they look uneducated and not very smart.
Students look organized and professional when they go to school all wearing the same thing. It includes everyone and students can feel proud of their school.
Uniforms give students an identity because when they wear their school uniform, they are representing that school whenever they go into public etc.
3 MA: Students shouldn't be comparing what they are wearing to other students and need to focus on school and their assignments.
Pupils who wear uniforms, on the other hand, can focus on their studies and assigned tasks and know that everyone is wearing the same thing. They also are relieved emotionally knowing that they aren't being judged on what they are wearing by other piers.
Students, (girls in particular) care a lot about what other people think about them and how they look. Even if a uniform isn't the most 'trendiest' thing out there, they are practical and girls know that they are all wearing the same thing. Girls can focus more on their studies than their looks with the power of uniforms.
While students are in class, they shouldn't be focusing on what someone else is wearing and "which outfit looks better". Students should be focusing on their assigned task and homework instead of always looking around to see what everyone is wearing and judging them.
Some clothes that students would wear are very distracting and revealing. For example, weather its a sequin-covered-tank-top or a shirt that is cropped, pupils can get distracted looking at other piers' clothing and makes the situation quite uncomfortable.
1 MA: No matter how much money or how little money a family has, students, will feel no pressure from peers on what they have to wear to school.
Especially in junior high and in high school, girls and boys alike start bullying and picking on students about what they are wearing and about much money they have or don't have.
It is very important that a student feels confident and happy in the clothes that they wear to school. It increases self-esteem and they have a better performance in school academically and socially.
There is a lot of social pressure from students. For the most part, they just want to fit in and stick-out from other students with their clothes as well.
When students wear the same clothes every day, it shows equality and students don't have to worry about what anyone else thinks about them because everyone is wearing the same thing!
