second conditional
: In English there are several types of conditional, among them, the second conditional. This type of conditional is used to talk about events that are unlikely to happen in the future.
structure
If + sujeto + past simple, sujeto + would + verbo en infinitive (without to)
example:
If I were invisible for one day, I could play tricks on my friends.
If he were not stubborn, I would admit he was wrong.
Causatives
: We use a causative verb when we want to talk about something that someone else did for us or for another person. It means that the subject caused the action to happen, but didn't do it themselves. Maybe they paid, or asked, or persuaded the other person to do it.
structure:
Have + object + past participle (have something done)
Get + object + past participle (get something done)
example:
The students get their essays checked.
I'll get my hair cut next week.
command, request, statement, question: when you reported speach
structure:
to + infinitive in statements and not + to + infinitive in negative statements.
command: dont speak spanish
request: could you open the window.
linking words:
Linking words are words that link or relate two ideas, within a sentence or within a paragraph. The linking words have several functions, such as contrast information, make comparisons, add information or give reasons or explanations.
example:She comes to school despite bringing other uniform
tenses:Verbs come in three tenses: past, present, and future. The past is used to describe things that have already happened. The present tense is used to describe things that are happening right now, or things that are continuous. The future tense describes things that have yet to happen.
example: e.g., earlier in the day, yesterday, last week, three years ago.
e.g., later, tomorrow, next week, next year, three years from now.
