:check: Festival; music, stalls, food and drink
Less focus on
family events
Youth Council
Yearly elections in schools.
launched in conjunction with work experience - September?
If launched before September, need to ensure external students can still be involved
Advertised before Summer - applications to be in by end of September?
Elected representatives can gather student opinion and have termly meetings with the town council
Youth Council Application Process
Anonymous application process to ensure it does not become a 'popularity contest'
Town council to create a standard application form which can be used in all schools
Application should focus on
realistic
ideas for local improvements, rather than focus on students' past achievements.
Offer creative, non-academic application process to ensure youth council is not all the same members as school council. Cross-subject appeal eg. design challenge
