Plato on the Soul: past, present and future.

In the present, it is incarnated in the body. The body is a 'prison' for the soul.
Future - it will be liberated from the body and reincarnated in another body or return to the realm of the forms.

Initially, it appears that Aristotle would not believe in an afterlife, however some writings may suggest that he believes the power of reasoning survives death and acrries on without our identiy.
