- - - - You put lime water into a test tube of carbon dioxide and if it turns milky it shows that their is carbon dioxide present
  - - - Insert damp red litmus paper into the gas.
        If the paper turns blue then ammonia is present.
  - - - You stick a glowing splint into a test tube and if it ignites it shows their is gas present
  - - - Insert damp UI paper into the gas.
        If the paper turns red then bleaches, chlorine is present
  - - - Put a lit Splint inside a test tube of Hydrogen and it should make a pop noise
- - - - 1.Dip the wire loop into concentrated hydrochloric acid to remove any ions that would affect the result and place in blue Bunsen flame to check it is clean
      - 2.Dip it into the HCl again and then the compound you are going to test.
      - 3.Place the wire into the edge of the blue Bunsen flame
