Causative verbs in English are those that are used to indicate a person or thing that performs an action.

WOULD When used as preterite to talk about the past, it is used with verbs of movement (walking, running, jumping, etc.) and generally in actions that were carried out in a habitual or repetitive way.
EXAMPLES
I would go to the cinema.
When I was young I would play tennis.
USED TO
-To talk about the past, it is used with any type of verb.

· We used to go to London in the summer / We used to go to London in summer (nowadays we do not go to London in summer anymore)
EXAMPLES
I used to read books.
When I was young I used to play tennis.
I used to go swimming every Thursday when I was at school.
I used to smoke but I gave up a few years ago.
