The atmosphere
Composition of the atmospheric pressure :
Nitrogen ( N2 ) is the most abundant of the gases . Nitrgen cannot be used by living things .
Oxygen ( O2 ) Oxygen makes up twenty - one per cent of the atmosphere . Most living things need oxygen to carry out respiration .
Carbon dioxide ( CO2 ) . Carbon dioxide makes up 0.03 per cent of the atmosphere . Plants need to carry photosynthesis .
Water Vapour . The concentration of water vapour in the atmosphere varies . Involved the formation of clouds .
Other elements . The atmosphere also contains other elements such as noble gases for example ( argon , neon , helium and krypton , hydrogen and ozone ).
The role of the atmosphere :
Solar Radiation
Visible light
X - ray radiation
Ultraviolet Radiation
From impacts from meteorites
Different types of gases :
Provides living things .
Oxygen .
Carbon dioxide .
Air pollution :
Gases : such us carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide .
Particulates : Which are solid and liquid particles suspended in the air .
Light and noise : which are the two main types of energy that polluted the atmosphere .
