Adding
when adding fraction, you have to simplify the denominator then add.
Example: 1/2 + 3/4, 1/2 x 2 is 2/4 now denominator are equal, 2/4 +3/4 is 5/4.
Subtracting
When subtracting fractions, you must simplify the denominators then subtract.
Example:3/4 - 1/2. 1/2 x 2 is 2/4. Now their even, 3/4 - 2/4 = 1/4.
Multiplying
When multiplying fractions, you just multiply like you normally do with and number!
Example: 1/2 x 3/4 is 3/8.
Denominator
The denominator is the number that is on the bottom.
For example: in 1/2 the denominator is 2.
Numerator
The numerator is the top of the fraction.
Example: in 1/2 the numerator is 1.
Dividing
When dividing fractions,, you mush flip the fraction that you divide by. This is called a reciprocal.
1/2 divided by 3/4. We must flip 3/4 to get 4/3. Now we multiply 4/3 x 1/2 and that equals 2/3.
