Retest students with ESGI on the long vowel sounds. Students successfully identify the long vowel sounds (and explain that the vowel is saying its name.)
Students play Rhyme Machine (Teaching Mama, 2019) to reinforce the sounds of the long vowels.
Teacher explains about the Magic e (Silent e) and how in some CVC words, they can become CVCe words by adding e at the end. The e makes the other vowel say its name (making it a long vowel.) The students play Magic e wand. (Hollowell, 2015)
