Purpose of Government Initiatives / Grants
Help employers cope with cost of training and development of employees, provide them with resources to meet hiring and training needs.
Workfare Training Support (WTS) Scheme
Encourage employers to sponsor lower wage employees for training to upgrade work skills & improve business performance.
Receive up to 95% course fee subsidy and absentee payroll funding when employees are sent for approved WTS-eligible courses.
How to qualify?
Be a Singapore Citizen.
Aged 35 years and above (13 years and above for Persons With Disabilities).
Earn an average gross monthly income of not more than $2,000 for the months worked.
Enhanced Training Support for SMEs
Higher Course Fee Grant
Use SkillsFuture Funding of up to 90% of course fees when they sponsor employees to attend courses supported by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG).
Enhanced Absentee Payroll (AP) Funding
May claim AP funding of 80% of basic hourly salary at a higher cap of $7.50 per hour, an increase over the normal cap of $4.50 per hour.
How to qualify?
Employment size of not more than 200 (at group level) or with annual sales turnover (at group level) of not more than $100 million.
Trainees must be hired in accordance with the Employment Act and fully sponsored by their employers for the course.
At least 30% local shareholding by Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents.
Trainees must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents.
Registered or incorporated in Singapore.
Enterprise Training Support (ETS) Scheme
Helps companies, including SMEs, to implement progressive Human Resource (HR) systems, and enhance in-house training infrastructure, capabilities and skills levels for all levels of the workforce.
How to qualify?
New companies (i.e. companies who have not subscribed to any of SSG’s funding schemes previously); OR
Companies who have tapped on earlier SSG schemes, but they will not qualify for specific grant components if it was supported under the earlier schemes, e.g. HR Development Grant and Capability Grant.
Companies must be registered or incorporated in Singapore; AND

Career Support Programme (CSP)
Salary support programme to encourage employers to hire eligible Singapore Citizen PMETs.
Employers can receive up to $42,000 salary support for hiring eligible Singapore Citizens.
