Types of circuits
Series circuit:
If you remove or disconnect one components the circuit is broken and everything stops working
Parallel circuits:
Each component is separately connected to the power source meaning if one part is disconnected or broken nothing else is affected.
-
Voltage will increase as current increases because there are more electrons flowing through the circuit
Resistance: In a circuit, is the amount of opposition to the flow of current
Factors affecting resistance:
- Voltage
- Current
- Length of wire
- Material of wire
- Temperature
- Thickness of wire

A.C. electrons vibrate causing the light to flicker on and off but it's so fast our eyes see it as constantly being on

Light Dependant Resistor (LDR) - in bright light the resistance falls. In darkness the resistance increases. LDR's are used for street lamps.
Thermistor - A temperature dependent resistor, in hot conditions the resistance drops. In cool conditions the resistance increases. Thermistors are used to monitor car engine temperatures
