My Qs and Concerns for "60 Minutes"

Did anyone do a "fact check" on Davies's story?

Who typically is responsible for fact checking?

Why was this step not completed?

Did anyone review Davies's FBI report?

What are the noticeable differences between stories?

Are there any differences in Davies's "60 Mins" report vs. what is listed in FBI report?

Was anyone ever able to cooperate Davies's Story in either report?

What ethical questions were raised?

Davies's was not actually at the compound that night

Davies told the FBI a different story

The story Davies's told "60 Mins" is quite different than what his account in the FBI report, how is it no one noticed this initially?

Aside from the correction story they aired, what steps has "60 Minutes" taken to ensure their fact finding, reporting, etc are done using ethical practices and/or procedures so this doesn't happen again?

My opinion about the issue, and what caused me to form this opinion?

My reaction to the ethical issues raised by the information in the article

All involved from leadership down should have been reprimanded at a minimum!

The correction story WAS NOT and STILL ISN'T enough!

"60 Minutes" should have aired an apology alongside their correction story.

This isn't the first time a news organization or a reporter has outright lied about events with the intention to defraud and misinform the public, what is "60 Minutes" planning to do differently moving forward?

What opposing view could be expressed?

60 Mins could have interviewed taken info from others present that night

An interview with the Washington Post reporter could have helped

Did anyone read the Washington Post article?

Did anyone contact the Washington Post, Karen DeYoung?

How could using a balance in research and reporting tactics have made a difference in the outcome of what was reported?

News/Media Outlets and organizations have a moral and ethical responsibility to promote truth. Editors and all leadership within these organizations should cross reference information and fact check at a minimum before releasing any story to the public.

Who is verifying details of story to ensure accuracy and validity of each story before stories are made public?
