Types of head covering
Shayla
A long rectangular scarf, that is wrapped round the head and tucked or pinned at the shoulders.
Al-Amira
A two piece veil, accompanied by a close fitting cap made of cotton and a tube - like veil.
Burka
The most concealing of the Islamic veils. It covers the face and body leaving just a mesh over the eyes.
Khimar
Long cape - like veil that hangs just above the waist. It covers the shoulders, neck and hair, leaving the face clear.

Worn with an accompanying headscarf. Covers the face, but leaves the eyes clear

The Qur'an only says that you should dress modestly - not necessarily cover yourself completely.
