CHARACTERS
Sergeant Theodore "Teddy" Grady (40yo) of the 306th Machine-Gun Company. Lost 12 men on the final day of WW1 at the Battle of Belleau Wood when a single bomb landed on his position. His tinnitus is overwhelming at times and explosions make him very shaken. Grumpy beyond his years. Middle management in the Pacific Railway Co. Ready to lay on the tracks or drink himself to death any day now. Only drive is to find a more glorious way to die.
Mother is obsessed with rectifying the ways in which her poor choices have led to his shortcomings but in his mind it’s as simple as he should have been left handed when he was trained to be right handed. The crux of their conflict is obsessive guilt juxtaposed with desire to overcome all “hardships” to “prove one’s self worth.”
Amelia Earhart (37yo) "Meeley" Tomboy thru and thru. Marksman and adventurist as a child. Trained as a nurse's aid in 1917 cooking and serving meds in Toronto. Got her pilot's license in Longbeach Cal, 1923 (16th woman in the U.S.) Founded TWA with Lindberg and became an avid promoter of Women in aviation and aviation in general. 1932 made first solo transatlantic flight from Newfoundland to Northern Ireland. Became close friends to Eleanor Roosevelt. Planning another solo flight from Cali to Hawaii early next year in "old Bessie" her Lockheed Vega (6 passenger.) Greatest drive is adventure and financing adventures.

Grace Muriel Earhart (36yo) "Pidge" Exceedingly fond of reading from an early age. Access to an extensive family library. A tomboy like her sister. Very adventurous but more for knowledge's sake rather than "the thrill." Very strongly versed in the occult and secret societies. Thrilled by her sister's fame, if only for the access to the libraries and soirees of the rich and famous. Greatest drive is to learn the things one isn't allowed to learn.
Rexford Guy Tugwell (43yo) New York born educational elite. Attended Wharton School, Doctorate at Columbia University in Economics. "Shoots from the hip" with economic views. Very progressive member of Roosevelt's Brain Trust. Assistant Secretary to FDR, created the Soil Conservation Service last year to restore poor quality soil ahead of the dust bowl. Has grand ideas for how people should live communally and utilize technologies from the past in futuristic pursuits.
Adolphus Hitler (45yo) Austrian born, decorated WW1 veteran. Exposed to mustard gas attacks, believes strongly in the "back stab myth" that the German government leaders who signed the armistice on 11/11/1918 betrayed the German army. The degeneracy and national humiliation of Germany is the result of 14 years of rule by Jews, Marxists and cultural Bolsheviks. Ordered the "Night of the Long Knives" murdering the top SA leaders. Upon President Von Hindenburg's deathbed, had the cabinet pass the "Law Concerning the Highest State Office of the Reich" merging the offices of the president and chancellor under the title of Leader and Chancellor (Fuhrer und Reichskanzler.)

The Lusitania
May 1, 1915 The Lusitania leaves New York for Liverpool laden with munitions destined for the British war effort. May 7, a German U 20 slams 1 torpedo into her side. A second unexplained explosion rips the liner in twain. Within 18 minutes 1119 of the 1924 passengers have perished. Walter Schwieger captained the U boat. Alfred Vanderbilt was on board.
Black Tom
1916 America is Britain's largest source of arms. A staging area for the munitions is established in Black Tom NJ. July 30, 1916 a fire breaks out in the crammed facility and an ear-splitting explosion shatters windows in Manhattan. The entire facility with it's munitions depot is completely destroyed.
Wall Street Crash
Oct 29, 1929 Black Tuesday. Bedlam breaks out on the exchange floor. The early signs were there in Sept. but none expected such tremendous sell offs and no one quite knows why it began.

1933 FDR claims "The only thing to fear is fear itself...and also spiders..."
Mar 9, 1933 Bank Stabilization bill passed.
Mar 11, 1933 Economy bill passed slashing $500 mil in scheduled payments to vets and fed employees.
Mar 12, 1933 Federal Emergency Relief Act distributes hundreds of millions to the states for unemployed.
Gold standard ended.
Federal Securities Act regulates Wall Street.
Emergency Relief Appropriations Act is being crafted for "work relief projects" through the Works Progress Administration.
Federal One lobbied for by Eleanor Roosevelt to allocate funds from WPA and ERAA to the arts.

The Decree of the Reich President for the Protection of People and State:
Hitler is Chancellor of Germany. The Reichstag "Fire" decree has nullified many of the civil liberties of German citizens. It is used as the legal basis for the imprisonment of Nazi opponents and the suppression of "unfriendly" publications. The KPD (Commuinist Party of Germany) is feared by many Germans, in no small part because of Hitler's rants.
Plot Threads
Hitler's exposure to mustard gas lead to uses of new treatment techniques including a "new" drug; Chemist Richard Helmuth Fredrick Manske, a german born Canadian researching the effects of his thus un-synthesized DMT suggests to the Canadian military that the compound may aid in recovery from mustard gas attacks. Canadian officers caught by the Bavarian army share the info and the doses to be "sampled" on victims of the gas, including Adolf Hitler's unit.
While Hitler is seeking to resurrect Germany politically and economically, a small group of high ranking Nazi leaders lead by Himmler and Rosenberg seek to appease the "Coming Race" of inter-dimensional beings by spilling the blood of millions. They are convinced that the same beings worshiped by the Mayans were un-appeased by their sacrifices and offer great reward to the humans that will satisfy their demands. Thusly the technological advancements of the Nazi party is the direct result of Nazi scientists being directed to synthesize and mass produce DMT and seek other means of making contact with the Vril-ya, and the Vril-ya divulging knowledge and lending their destructive powers at key moments.

MISSION
FDR and Eleanor are desperate to bring the nation out of the Great Depression. War must be avoided at all costs. The strange events leading up to WW1 and the Wall Street Crash have left a lot of questions regarding the capabilities of the German and Russian armies. While both are "healing wounds" there is great concern that some of the acts of war committed are beyond suspect. The team assembled have been tasked with 2 goals;
Determine the true nature of the sinking of the Lusitania
Determine the validity of the claims of "super soil" being discovered in caves in Les Eyzies, France.
