JUST WAR
a war which meets internationally accepted criteria for fairness; follows traditional Christian rules for a just war and is now accepted b other religiouns
Most religious leaders accept that sometimes, war is a necessary evil: If you do not fight, you allow a greater evil to happen. In the Middle Ages, St Augustine outlined conditions under which it would be ok for Christians to go to war. In the 13th century, Thomas Aquinas added to this and produced the Just War Theory.
LESSER JIHAD (defence of one's faith, family and country from threat) obliges Muslims to fight under certain conditions - same conditions as just war.
