Standards
Standard 101 - The Library will have a visionary mission statement that is philosophically aligned with the parent institution. The Library Director will serve as the chief advocate for this vision. The Library will also have a planning process that draws on the strength of staff collaboration
Standard 202 - The Director shall seek to hire a staff that reflects the strengths of today’s diverse society. Staff shall earn a market wage without bias or discrimination. Employment policies and practices shall promote individual intellectual growth by fostering a creative environment.
Standard 203 - The staff shall be an integral part of the academic life of the College. The Library Director will facilitate the implementation of Standard 701 (“Highest and Best Use of Personnel within the Institution”) by agreeing to share staff to other programs and departments within the institution as necessary and appropriate. Additionally, Library staff will serve on committees outside of their own departments.
