William T. Love proposes a canal to connect upper & lower Niagara River.
GOAL: 280 ft. man-made waterfall.
Result of economic depression: partially dug space 60 ft. wide, 3000 ft. long. It became a waste disposal.

The canal is filled and covered with dirt. Then the Hooker company sold it land off for one dollar to the Board of Education.
