Digestive/Urinary System: Amarilis Ramos
Major functions of the
digestive &urinary:
Digestive:break down food
also absorbs food
Urinary-produces ,stores, fluid
major organs of the digestive and urinary systems;
Small Intestine:absorption of nutrients and minerals from food
Rectum:to act as a temporary storehouse for feces.
Stomach;-digest food /secrete acids
Urinary:Kidney-help filtrate blood back into body
Esophagus:-the part of the alimentary canal that connects the throat to the stomach
Urethra-acts as a source to realise urine out of the body
Pharynx-muscular walls function in the process of swallowing, and it serves as a pathway for the movement of food from the mouth to the esophagus.
Bladder-stores urinary waste products
Digestive:Salivary Gland-helps swallowing/protect mouth
Sphincter muscle-controls the exit of urine in the urinary bladder
digestive
enzymes (including names and functions);
Proteases- function is to help break down protein into animo acids
Amylases-function is to break down starch into sugars
Lipases-function is to brake down fats into fatty tissues
location of digestion and absorption of each
macromolecule;
chemical digestion-begins in the mouth with salivary amylases in salvia
The absorption of the macromolecules are recycled to make better protein
layers of the GI tract (including stomach);
Submucosa(middle layer)
muscularis propria
Mucosa(innermost layer)
the adventitia(outer layer)
Nephron anatomy and physiology
filtration-helps take out unnecessary waste products
reabsorption-helps in recollecting any waste products within the body
secretion- transfer of materials from peritubular capillaries to the renal tubular lumen
disorders of the digestive and urinary systems.
Appendicitis.-when appendice is inflamated and causes a lot of pain
Urinary:urinary tract infection-causes pain when urinating caused by bacteria
Gastroenteritis- an infection that causes sharp stomach pain
Incontinence -too loose alot of urine within the body
Digestive:Crohn disease-inflammation in the digestive tract
