In January 2019 there were 380,000 international tourists and 280,000 domestic tourists who visited Queenstown. Of these, 170,000 stayed in hotels, 86,000 stayed in Motels/apartments, 71,000 stayed at backpackers accommodation and 50,000 stayed at holiday parks.
