1972, Saddam nationalizes oil profits. saddam used this money to raise wages, cut taxes, and provide food, all to increase his popularity
Saddam then extended infrastructure roads, electricity, railroads, new radio and tv stations, and huge industries were created

1953 coup of the Shah over Mussadeq left Iran at the hands of British and US interests, because the CIA and M16 aided the Shah. This coup had no support from the people of Iran.
