Who fought in the Battle of Nek
The Battle of Nek was fought by the ANZAC, British and the Ottomans. The Anzac soldiers were enlisted in something called the light horse that every year men from Australia would apply and go to the war.
Men that fought on the Anzac side of the battle were mainly from Western Australia or Victoria
The 3rd Light horse is who fought at the Battle of Nek and were the soldiers how were in the final charge on August 7th 4:30 am

The Nek was a Turkish position in Gallipoli that the ANZAC were trying to infiltrate.

The main strategies was to charge: They had four lines that consisted of about 150 men,this was a limited number because of the sloping terrain, and then at a certain time they would charge through narrow areas and steep hills to try and infiltrate the Ottomans
The First line trying to attack the Ottomans with Bombs and Bayonets that were all hand made because of the lack of resources they had. (Also seen in the Gallipoli movie). The second line was to go over the fist line and hide in trench that were further away. The third lines jobas to capture the other turkish trenches. The fourth line then came with shovels to dig areas that needed digging for the trenches.
Timing was very important during these battles, because it helps tell the soldiers when to attack or shot at the enemy.
These also applied to the navy
The most important time was 4:30am because that was when the first charge would commence and when many soldiers would run towards the Ottoman trenches.
During the Charge at the Nek, when the Colonel said "Go", lots of soldiers charged but then were shot down by the ready waiting Ottomans. During the fighting the weapons that were used were machine guns and rifles. Then after the Turks started throwing Bombs at the ANZACs.
Soldiers usually didn't make it more than 10-20 meters because of the turkish powers.
Lieutenant Colonel Noel Brazier was the only high ranking officer how had fought against the stratige of sending all there men in to battle to be shot down. He said " Nothing but bloody murder"
Ottoman strategie
during the charge at Nek, they stop shooting and started to gone into the front line trenches to the 3rd Light Horse, where they would shoot at them.
During the charge at Nek, they used weapons such as machine guns, rifles, or black cricket bobs that were thrown from trench to trench and there was also another type of bomb called jam- tin bombs that were thrown by running troops.
The Turks had a minimum of 5 machine guns and they also had two trenches

712 men had died and the remaining 38 where sent to the melbourne port to fight there
Horses and other animals were also transported to the war because hey were very useful for carrying soldiers. 230 horses that were fit for work were transported to Gallipoli.
No man'sland was only 40 meters long but the ANZAC's were still shot down by the Ottoman powers. It was no longer than a tennis court
