Goals for Changing Spaces Unit
Being able to perform better at the sports in this unit than before (touch rugby, netball, lacrosse, handball)
time of the day
Depending on when class is, this can affect my performance ability.
Third Period:
This time is right before lunch and also when it is the most humid/sunny throughout the day. This can cause me to run less because of the stickiness or heat, and hunger may also prevent me from performing my best.
Fourth Period:
Heavy lunch: Since the fourth period is right after lunch, if I had a heavy lunch that day, this would prevent me performing at my best ability because I have a heavy stomach hindering me from running.
Light lunch: If I had a light lunch, this could cause two different effects.
too little: If I had no or too little lunch, this can cause hunger while I play games, and this will stop me from performing at my best as I will lack energy.
just right: When I have just right amount of food right before PE, this would be the best conditions for me because I would feel sufficiently energized, but not too full at the same time.
Second period:
Along with having PE last period, this may be the best time where I can perform to my best ability because this is about two hours after breakfast (which means I am probably not too full). Also, there's a low possibility I would be unreasonably tired.
Last Period:
This is when I am most likely to be active because it is the last period of the day, so I am not stressed about having to go to the next class, and I have PE last period on a Friday, so this is another reason why I could possibly feel more energized and perform better at the sport.
First period:
Monday mornings are when I have PE first period, and this is the time when I feel least motivated throughout the whole week because I have come back from a weekend. The exhaustion from Monday mornings may directly reflect on my game performance skills.
academic
If I have a lot of assessments in other classes and have been struggling with academic workload stress and lack of sleep, then this may affect my playing conditions in class as I will not feel energized consistently.
environmental
Since the AQI rate has been high in Hanoi recently, the air pollution can affect my performance because I have a sensitive respiratory system and used to struggle with mild rhinitis.
motivation
This has a connection with academic pressure; if I am feeling fatigued due to lack of sleep or if just physically feel exhausted, this could stop me from being able to perform efficiently.
earrings
I recently got my ear pierced on my cartilage, so I am very careful about physical contact with my ear. Therefore, I sometimes restrain myself from playing too aggressively because I am afraid that my studs will fall off, or the opponent will clash onto my ear and cause bleeding.
peer pressure
Depending on who I am going against, I may be intimidated or overly confident. Psychological factors may cause bias and this could directly affect my actions and performance ability.
lose weight
excessive food consumption
Throughout this unit, it is likely for me to lose weight if I maintain the portion I eat now. However, if I eat consume more calories just because I have burned more calories, this may lead me to gaining weight.
participation in games
Just because I played a game, it doesn't mean I have burned a lot of calories. It depends on how committed and participative I was in the games. If I just stood there the whole time, then that would make no difference in my body. However, if I move a lot, there is a high possibility I will be able to achieve losing weight.
Enjoy playing games with peers
My performance ability for each sport
Touch rugby: Touch rugby is a sport I've never played before, and our team was confused with the rules, so it was a struggle to perform the game properly and this hindered me from enjoying playing matches against other teams.
Netball: I enjoyed playing netball more than touch rugby because a lot of the rules overlapped with basketball, which is a sport I used to play back in elementary school. Since I was familiar to many of the techniques, I was able to perform well and enjoy the matches.
Peer pressure
If my team always loses, this could upset me and cause lack of motivation to play games and this could possibly cause me to lose interest and entertainment playing the game.
I may be pressured by the fact that I have to perform than certain people or win certain teams due to their reputation of "not being so good".
Pressure within my team may also alter this aspect because if I am not skilled at a certain sport and miss catching the ball too often, my teammates may dislike having me on the team, and this would not be an enjoyable time.
