o He defines man as beings who fuck and kill – no mentions of love from Davidson
oWomen of his own species don’t even make the cut for his definition of person, as he treats women more like cattle than other men
• Lyubov and Athsheans are the foils to Davidson, they have more in common with each other, as different species, than with Davidson
o Athsheans are able to recognize humans as people while humans treat Athsheans as cattle
o They define people as beings who respect life, love is portrayed repeatedly as a motivator for the Athsheans, and dreaming is the defining characteristic of a person
