End of year reflection
I have almost completed the AP Statistics course, however, am not totally there yet. As of the time I am writing this. I am hoping to finish it before July as there is not much left. I think next year the only option for math for me right now would be AP Calculus AB. I am not very excited for this but it will be a challenge, hopefully one I can overcome. In past years I have completed math course quite rigorously and am weirdly happy that this one lasted a whole school year.
Literature

Mid-year update
I started my year reading Anna Karenina and at the end of the 3rd six week block i was still reading it. I ended up grabbing a book off my shelf one night and i read through it in a couple of days, i just could not put it down. It turns out this book was To All The Boys I've Loved Before. After reading it I ended up getting the second and third books. I absolutely love this series of books and I am assuming it is because it is relatable. The books are all about teenage years and I don't know I think they are just really good. I have decided to make a website for the books and I am excited to get working on it.
End of year reflection
I am honestly pretty happy with my literature project, it is not too much and it is not lacking. I ended up building an app because this year I really wanted to work on some coding this year and this was my chance do so. I really enjoyed researching the coding and everything I needed to prepare the app. I ended up using the coding language of Bootstrap and I think it went really well. It was honestly really easy to learn and to figure out. I was pretty happy with the way my app turned out and I am really happy that I pushed myself to do this for my product. The actual app includes analysis on each book in the series as well as character descriptions and some other additional things.
Service/leadership

Mid-year update
In the middle of this year I was asked to go to ISN. Which was kind of exciting for me. I also started working with Keanna to plan mentor check-ins and mentor training. It was at this time where I realized I would be better off combining my service and leadership project
End of year reflection
I attended ISN, and completed this project with 1.3 credits. I think I will miss the amount of involvement I have at this school but not enough to stay I guess. I am excited for all of the people that now have the opportunity to fill those spots, and feel confident that I am leaving it in good hands. I think this project ended up to be way more time put in than I had expected at the end of the year since I will finish up with about 100 leadership hours.
Extras
Speech
This year for speech night I wrote and delivered my speech on aquatic poaching in Japan. I personally think this was my worst speech throughout my career here at VNS. I know I can be extremely critical of myself but I know that this speech was under-rehearsed, and unprepared. I ended up rewriting my speech two days before speech night, I was much more happy with the way this one turned out except delivery was not great, since there was not a lot of time for memorization.
PLP
This year I did a lot with my PLP and I plan to continue working on it in he future even if my VNS career is ending. I ended up creating a PLP website this year as well as just updating and newer ways to enhance goal setting, and ways to look at the future.
Spanish

Mid-year update
In the middle of the year my Spanish project was pretty nonexistent. Since i was spending a large majority of my time was being spent at east. When I was here in the morning I mainly focused on psychology and project work. I ended up dropping my classes and out of that began my foreign language project.
End of year reflection
I ended up not getting this project to where i wish i could have however, i think it went pretty well. I have zero motivation to work on Spanish which is part of the reason why I struggled with it so much. I think next year I would really enjoy bringing back ASL with Annie... Those were the most enjoyable aspects of my past foreign language project. Next year i hope to reengage in our relationship, and start doing ASL with her again. I think this year it fell through because both of our schedule were very busy and neither of us were very persistent when it came to planning times. I am really hoping to start the project over the summer, and then hopefully I will start the year off with a good amount of hours.

Mid-year update
in the middle of the year, my hours where still climbing i ended up deciding to take the pottery class at the kiln and added it to this project. I think art is something that i enjoy doing that makes me happy but i also struggle to do it because I am way to critical of my own personal work... I have stretched my goal of 0.25 to 0.35 and maybe we will see if I get higher than that.
End of year reflection
At the end of the year I ended this project with 0.60 credit. I had found that watercolor painting is something that makes me happy and I enjoy doing. I ended up expanding the project to 0.6 after spending over 15 hours on painting in one weekend. I would really like to continue with the personal goals I have made for myself wherever I end up next year. I am hoping to continue with nature photography as well as the more artsy sides of it, to improve my mental well being.
AP Psychology

Mid-year review
Keanna and I were meeting strong, holding out and getting ready for the test. We were feeling pretty prepared in terms of timing when it comes to the test. We were meeting every morning for an hour and then finishing off our sessions of psych with an audio log. These logs were a new technique of logging and honestly I really enjoyed it way more than normal logging. It was a chance to review and discuss what we learned, maybe debate or just ask each other questions on anything we were confused about.
End of year reflection
Keanna and I took the test. We finished the project on a strong note and I am feeling pretty confident on my test scores. I think that this was a cool way of structuring a project and would have enjoyed doing it all year. So I guess I could say i regret my decision of going against my gut and not doing what could have been better for me in the long run. I am hoping to have gotten over a 3 when the test scores come back. I finished off the year with 1.5 credit on this project.
Environmental science

Mid-year review
In the middle of this year I ended up dropping both of my classes, This class was definitely not what I had anticipated. I had been looking for something that would allow me to explore many different aspects of environmental science meanwhile a lot of what we were doing was watching documentaries or doing group projects. Most of the group projects I would end up doing alone or with one other person while sitting among a group of like six people. I always ended up getting paired up with a group of people who didn't take their work as seriously as I did. I ended up passing the class with an A. I genuinely attribute this to the fact that the classwork was really easy. It was a lot of reflection on documentaries or like i said group projects. There was one assignment that we had every week that was my favorite, it was a finding 3-5 articles or news events that had to do with environmental science and reflecting/summarizing them.
End of year reflection
I am genuinely happy I dropped this class. However, it was able to inspire the six-week project topics I had this year and many more. I realized that I would much rather go into the field of environmental science instead of psychology. It definitely re-sparked the inner tree-hugger... Over the course of this summer and next year I would like to continue down the environmental path, I am really interesting in trying to set up a greenhouse as well as an aquaponics system. I am currently looking into a career in environmental law, or civil engineering. Both of which make amazing yearly salary, and that is a big factor in my future career choosing. I think next year I would really like to implement the current events (enviro style) into my year. I don't know if it would be a project, maybe a small one. Just where I spend a half an hour every Friday on analyzing/summarizing environmental current events all year long...
Six-week projects
Deforestation
Deforestation was the first project I completed this year. It was heavily inspired by my Environmental Science course and I am happy to say I am proud of the information I gained during this project. I think my paper was relatively organised and well written. Although not my favorite project this year I was proud of how it turned out.
