Improving the sporting experience at clayesmore school
Sports hall
Lack of space in the sports hall
20 people in a PE class playing badminton with 4 per court with only 4 courts in the sport hall leaving 4 people who can not play
To solve this the school would have to billed a new sports hall
The floor of the hall is very hard
So if you where to fall or slips over it can mean you may have a more serious injury than you would do if it was a proper sprung hall floor
When running on such a hard floor it will mean there is more shock going into you knees which can cause long term injuries to your joints
To solve the problem of the hard floor we could ether get a new sprung floor land or build a new sports hall
i will need to ask the sport center how meany people it can fit
i will to ask find out if there is any proplemtls with the sport center from the perpctive of the teaches and the pople that work in it
i need to find look at how fotern it is inuser and when it is not
Astro
The lack of space means that when training a team will only have 1\4 of the of Astro and for only an hour which is not enough
There is no where to get out the weathers for the spectator
All though there is dug outs they are not in a good state of repair and face the Wrong way so they do not keep you dry in the rain
as you can see from the photes the plascik that is made from which would thouck it is made from ..... but it can brack when hit by a hokcey bail it can brack anf can be dangros with smaill preses of placise flying around and sharp egeis
On a Saturday there are matches but because of prep school games they do not start till 2:30pm means that then next game does not start till 4pm but it very offend delayed
With the number of teams playing it means some teams have to play on grasss pitches which is very different t from playing on an astro
as you can see from the phote the golds are not in the best condeson becase they have been keeped out side
Sports pitches
There is only one football pitch meanyng we can only have one team so football has to be limited to the 6th form
The cricket square is not flat which means you often recieve random bounces and the ball changing in direction meaning it’s is very hard to play cricket on
We only have 2 pitches on site. The cricket square when we have to use a 3rd pitch is in the Village which I can be dangerous to get to as we have to cross the A350
this meaning that it becomes danjrose as there is a main road that car go very fast along there all tho it is only a 30mph speed limet
so to incress the sarfes at the school they need to find space for a 3ed place
The gym
The present Gym is very small with not many gym stations meaning not many people can train at the same time
There is no free weights or a squat rack which I know lots of the pupils would like to use
to find out if the gym has more people using it then can at busy time of day i will to find out when they are
I will look in to how menay pepole the sport center let in to the gym at once
The coaches
There are only 5 specialist coaches so the level of coaching that we are getting it not the best as most of them are trying to coach the skills they remember form when they play
becase of the lack of coshes it means the year do not yet teh hist leaves of coaheing becase they are jused fro the senserteams
so the poeple that do not get the better coshes are not going to inpove as much so there is a bigger skill gap between the teams
swimming pool
The school does have a heated indoor swimming pool the chlorine levels always seem very high
There is not much space for spectators to watch when there is there is a swimming competion
the sport center has also had proplems with high leaves of clren that has brou up medcol proplems fro puples and stafe
changing room
For when other schools come here to play sports games they either have to come changed or use changing rooms that are available if it for rugby or cricket but for hockey, they have about a 5-minute walk which means that games are delayed
To solve this we can build a pavilion down at the astro or ask all teams to come changed but if it rain the players do not want to travel home in wet clothes
I would need to odo reachse in to how menay people on avery do a team bring for Rugby ,hockey, crightet and tennis
some of the prolems that are 1st team rundby player the main promplees are
there are porly mainten
there is no storgeb for clost or phones which means they cane get stolen
Video Viewing room
so pupils and teachers can watch back videos of their last game to see where they think they went wrong and where they can talk about tactics
running Track
We only have a grass running track that means are times are going to be slower and it will be harder for us to run on an atheletics track. This will not be good as will not know how the track will react.
I will need to fine out if the size of the running trake. and to see if a football pick can fit inside
Prep School
The prep school use our facilites this means there is limited time for the senior school sports teams to train and play matches
