Addressing the Digital Divide in a Technology, Rich Society
School district and and outside partnerships united to help fund programs to address equity and access issue. This provides money to purchase computers, proper teacher/staff training and infrastructure. (Mucetti, 2017
"Funding programs to provide internet access at home must be legislative priority at both the federal and state level (Holland, 2018).
Use the school library and collaborate with the school librarian to train students and teachers to use digital media. The school library can be used as a meeting place for after-school media clubs (Vickery, 2014).
Research questions/gaps: Are we being fair with the school community when implanting new digital media? Did adequate training take place so teachers can get the best out of new technologies to promote critical thinking, problem solving, creativity and collaboration?
