Search Engines/ Browsers:
Browsers are used to access various websites, documents, and web pages. E.g. Firefox, Safari, and Chrome.
A Browser is needed to open the internet, and the internet is needed to use a search engine.
Search Engines utilise exact keywords and find documents which contain these keywords. It is used to find specific information E.g. Google and Yahoo.
Effective Searching
Use quotation marks to search for exact phrases e.g. "Emperor Penguins"
Use the Boolean phrase AND when you want a source to contain both words. e.g. Unhealthy eating AND heart disease
Use keywords to find information instead of whole sentences. E.g. search for "life cycle of dogs" instead of "what are the stages in the life cycle of a dog?"
