        All this can be linked back to the Difference model and Tannen. Rather then studying women's language in the framework of powerlessness, it should be looked at through the idea of subcultures. This can be seen through this example, were the women does not lack authority, rather retains it whilst fulfilling other needs, such as support, compromise, feelings, intimacy, etc.
