Symbol One - Resistance

This is an important symbol that can represent Arnold to quite an extent. He always presses forward and never gives up, it was what made him more unique in the novel anyway. This is a heart beat, casually beating again and again, never faltering or slowing, yet never getting too fast. I think Junior is Resistant.

Symbol Two - Courage

The bear has been symbolized as courage in native american Indian times and traditions for a very, very long time. It is a very symbolic and meaningful sign to the eye and portrays courage whom are like the bear. I think Junior is courageous and brave and could be symbolized as the bear.

Symbol Three - Freedom

I think that Junior could represent the Eagle of Freedom well because in the end, he was trapped in a community of people without much escape than his own will. And so, unlike the others, he used that to his advantage and moved from the reservation. Becoming free as an eagle with his own decisions.
