SPIDER

The Interview Process:

My thought process behind these questions: I want to unearth my subject as a person and truly get a feel for them. I want to touch on ideas that are serious and sincere, but also lighthearted and something that is easy to digest. (

The Six Must Questions:

What is your biggest fear/worry in life?

What is the defining accomplishment / achievement / moment of your life?

If you had one superpower, what would it be and why?

What makes you happy, and why?

What color best represents you as a person? Reason behind it?

What does your future/past look like? Why?

Take a Photo of my Subject. (Young, Adolescent, Old)

Breaking Down The Web Set:

-Red messy circle and straight lines are the answer based on color. The colored yarn serves as not only an answer to my question from my interview, but it serves as the backbone of the web. The yarn will tie into everything and showcase how every answer and emotional outcome is tied and linked together and the subject.

-Each Letter or small acronym is an answer to my questions. They will not follow the same template in terms of layout, each subject will have their own unique layout.

-"H" is for the happy response

-"S" is for the superpower response

-"D.M" is for the defining moment response

-"B.F" is for the biggest fear response

-"O" is for the future/past response

-The middle of the web is a portrait shot of the interviewee taken by myself.

-The bottom left corner is a tag for the interviewee's name and age for the audience to know.

Audio for Art Installation:

Breaking down the audio feed:

For this to work I would need all the interviewees to verbally repeat the questions I ask. With all the different voices/ages being available to use I could stitch together something that sounds interesting. I want their voices to be questioning the audience as they view each identity web, it leaves room for interpretation and reflection as well. + Along with their voices will be an ambient instrumental. I would love to edit the voices to sound like a radio channel fading in and out.
