Deafness: According to World Health Organization, hearing loss is associated with a person who is unable to hear as well as someone with normal hearing. Hearing loss can be classified as mild, moderate, severe, or profound. When a person suffers from mild to severe hearing loss, s/he is categorized as 'hard of hearing'. People who have profound hearing loss are considered deaf. This means they have very little or no hearing.
