Should students have to wear uniforms?
1st Main Argument
Most people think that if everyone is wearing the same thing then there will be less bullying but Bullies try to aim at the insecurities of the person and hit them there. Maybe clothing is not there insecurity.
If we all wear casual clothing that is different from others we should just except that everyone is unique and different.
When we are all wearing uniforms people think that no one can bully anyone now that we are wearing the same things but most people will start to judge others like who wears what better and compares each other.
3rd Main argument
Creativity and Comfort
Students are able to be more athletic and don't have to worry as much as they would for a uniform because when they are playing, they don't half to worry about their kilt or skirt flying up.
When students wear non-uniform clothing it can inspire them to be creative and think outside the box for choosing outfits and allows them to show that they are different than each other.
With some students their talents are expressing their selves with fashion because it shows their creative side of them.
When you are studying for a big test or have to do lots of notes,
you most likely will want to be comfortable when doing this instead of being in an itchy, hot, and uncomfortable uniform.
Students should not have to wear uniforms or at least be able to personalize them with sweatshirts or coloured shoes because uniforms restrict self-expression & personality. Also when students wear regular clothing, it lets them show their creativity and talents. Some people say that there is less bullying when students have uniforms on but uniforms only make us look the same, and may not change characteristics.
Have you ever thought about why kids have to wear school uniforms?
If your school district supports school uniforms, what can a student do?
Do you know how many kids surveyed in one school County preferred school uniforms?
some experts believe that school uniforms do not improve academic behavioural, or social outcomes.
Wearing casual clothing can help create better habits when you are older. And it can boost your creative side.
When wearing regular clothing you can express your self in many other ways.
In conclusion, wearing school uniforms might not decrease bullying and unnecessarily restrict individual freedoms and creativity. In a modern society like today, individual expression should outweigh mass conformity.
2nd Main Argument
Self expression & personality
Wearing regular clothing can create better habits when you are older for if you need to be formal for a job interview or you just need to have casual clothes for regular events.
If students wear casual clothing they usually feel more relaxed and happier going to school than complaining about how hot or itchy uniforms are and how they don't get to be different in their own ways.
When students are wearing casual clothing their mood seems to be happier and more up lifting.
Most people express their personalities with what they wear and if we take away that, then we are also taking away part of their personal identity.
