College and university athletes should be paid for playing sports because once they are out of college they won't be in major debt, the student-athletes who get paid could help them pay for the cost of classes and supplies, it also would motivate more people to go to college to play sports.

Lots of the people who played HS sports and did not get a scholarship will go to college for a job and get a degree, paying for the supplies and school while pursuing information.
2% of HS sports players get scholarships while most do not; those people who don't get scholarships might not try to get into college for the academic aspect. because they can't afford it but if college or university athletes got paid it would bring those people in to college and college sports; giving them an education and letting them play their dream sport.
