Why shouldn't these athletes that perform at such a high level not be compensated for their efforts?
College athletes during games provide as much if not more excitement for their fans.
General Info
Football and basketball are the only sports that generate revenue.
Colleges and Universities are sometimes funded by donations.
NCAA provides $2.9 billion in athletic scholarships every year.
Conclusion
These athletes perform on the same stage as a professional athlete with how many fans watch them. College athletes with their workload is higher than a professional because they have academics on top of their sports regimen. I think they should get paid because they are having to perform at a very similar level as a paid professional athlete, except they are having to also attend classes, but they are not getting paid for their efforts. So I am for university and college athletes to get paid for their respective sports.
