RHINITIS
DEFINITION
is the infection and inflammation of the nasal mucosa. is characterised by increased nasal drainage, paroxysmal sneezing and itching of the nostrils.

sneezing, nasal discharge, headache,stuffness and pressure in the nose.

causes---viral and bacteria organisms including streptococcus pneumoniae, haemophilus influenzae and staphylococcus aureus

develops as a result of an upper respiratory tract infection.in inflammation, there is oedema and increased production of mucus.

NURSING MANAGEMENT
assist the patient in a sitting position. instruct the patient not to blow the nose as to prevent further bleeding.
