Rapivab (peramivir)
Mechanism of action
Peramivir is an inhibitor of influenza virus neuraminidase, an enzyme that releases viral particles from the plasma membrane of infected cells.
Indications
Acute uncomplicated influenza in patients 2 years and older who have been symptomatic for no more than 2 days
Contraindication

Severe allergic reactions have included anaphylaxis, erythema multiforme and Stevens-Johnson Syndrome

Mechanism of action

Virion release from infected cells and spread with the respiratory tract are inhibited due to blockade of this enzyme
indications
Treatment of uncomplicated acute illness due to influenza A and B virus in adults and pediatric patients aged 7 years and older who have been symptomatic for no more than 2 days.
