Non Renewable Energy
Nuclear Sources
Nuclear power is create din a nuclear plant which boild water to make steam and spin a turbine creating electricity.
-
Nuclear fission works by stricking the nuclei of certain isotopes with a neutron which splits the heavy nuclei into a lighter one, so that releases neutrons and that causes a chain reaction that realease alot of heat energy.
-
It costs a lot of money to build the plant and produces a low net energy, some people us ethe technology to create nuclear weapons and it also creates nuclear waste.
Nuclear reactors have a life span of 40-60 years after that they are decommisisoned and there is no way to dispose of the waste so contaiment structure are built around them.

Energy
Net eenergy is the amount of energy available form a given energy source minus what is requited to make the energy available
Can be messure in kilowatts for energy, BTU for heat and Joules
Energy density is the amount available per kilogram. Uranium 235 fuel and compresed H2 have the highest densities
Renewable
Natural Gas

It is low price so it would slow the transition to rely on renewable energy, dirlling and producing natural gas leaks large amounts into the atmosphere, fracking requiere huge energy imputs and it can pollute underground water .
