Compromise of 1820
The Compromise of 1820 is political because it allowed Missouri to be a slave state and Maine to be a free state. This also allowed future states to choose slavery or not. This upset congress.
Compromise of 1850
The Compromise of 1850 is political because it allowed California to be a free state and there would be no more slave trade in Washington DC. Also territorial problems were solved in Utah and New Mexico. This upset congress.
Kansas-Nebraska Act
The Kansas-Nebraska Act is political because it allowed the people of Kansas and Nebraska to choose slavery or not. This upset congress and unbalanced slavery and no slavery

The Dred Scott Decision is political because Scott couldn't win the freedom of his family because the government changed the law right before his eyes. This upset many people in the North.
