Step 6: Data analysis and interpretation
Is a process by which sense and meaning are made out of the data collected in the research. In this step
the researcher start by reviewing their research goals, to help them to organise their data and focus their
analysis. In a quantitative analysis the information provided involves critical analysis and interpretation of
figures and numbers and attempts to find rationale behind the emergences of the main findings. And in
qualitative data analysis involves identifying common patterns within the responses and critical analysing
them in order to achieve research aims and objects.
APPLICATION
The researchers have provided a Table to analyse the use of cigarette among different races and they
have interpreted their data by provide the percentage numbers of cigarette prevalence between men and
females of different races, this shows that the researchers have used the quantitative analysis method by
interpreting data in terms of numbers.

Step 7: Discuss and report writing
In this step the researcher needs to outline the framework they have used to present their data collected,
basically it is a general guide for what the reader will see in the article or dissertation.
Application
The researchers have provided us with a clear topic and they have answered the question fully in a way
that the reader can simply understand. And they have reported their data inform of a journal article, which
provides the heading in bold to capture the eye of the audience and have also given recommendations.
