Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS)
Angry and Explosive
Tier 2
Behavior Tracking System:
Daily Check In Check Out Data Summary
This tracking system provides opportunity for the teacher to check in with the student daily to see how they are emotionally, review what happened that day and reward points accordingly, and set goals for the next day. The student and teacher can see how much progress they made and how much work still to be done. Behavior reward systems are appropriate for elementary students.
Intervention:
Teach Relaxation Technique
Tier 3
Behavior Tracking System:
Referral to behavior specialist
This tracking system is age appropriate because it gives the student privacy and a safe space to express themselves and talk through what may be causing them to be angry and explosive. The counselor can then collaborate with the teacher to create a more informed behavior system for the child.

Tier 3
Behavior Tracking System
Referral to Behavior Specialist
Before the referral, a teacher can allow the student to take a break in the classroom, set their own personal workspace, or send the student to a buddy class to work. These systems are age-appropriate and would help to guide the student back to the task at hand.

Intervention

Student may:
Pestering
Get out of seat frequently
Failing to transition appropriately
