What I know about democracy by Sacha
What is democracy?
A democracy is a country or place, that does not have a monarch, dictator and so on. Any can vote and everyone's vote is worth the same. An example of a democracy is Australia and a example of monarchy is the Commonwealth and England which is ruled by queen Elizabeth the second
Why do we have laws?
Wondering - why don't the public get to make the laws?
Because other wise there would chaos and there would be some strange laws that would be created.....
Wondering - How do you create a law?
First a bill is drafted in the house of representatives then it is proposed if that wins it goes to to the senate where it is proposed again then if that wins again it goes back to the senate to be voted again if that wins then the bill is sent to the Governor general to be signed and made a law!

Being able to vote and speak out about our opinions.
All kids have to go to schools
Wondering- How do you become a politician?
We can speak out about our opinions.
To become a politician you register with the government sign documents , pay money and sign up for a party or become a independent and make sure that you haven't had more the 12 months prison, been bankrupt or have a jewel citizenship.
Because the would be anrchary if the was no laws.
Being able to choose who you want to run for your electorate
Because you can vote for anyone ,you can choose who you think will best represent your community/self
Any one is aloud to be a run as a candidate which means that you can represent your community
