CONVULSIVE CONDITION( COMPLEX PARTIAL SEIZURES)
DEFINITION
This in epileptic seizure that is associated with bilateral cerebral hermisphere involvement and causes imparement of awareness or responsiveness.

Toxicity from lead and carbon monoxide
PATHOPHYSIOLOGY
Complex partial seizure arise from any lobe of the brain and mostly from the mesial temporal lobe particular the amygdala, hippocampus and neocortical regions.Brain abnormality result as mesial sclerosis and atrophy where impared awareness and responsiveness result at the end.
CLINICAL MANIFESTATIONS
Unresponsiveness result
Pick at things like the air, clothing or furniture
Patient appears blank
Unaware of his or her surrounding
Posturing of upper and lower limbs
MANAGEMENT
Maintain patent airway and promote safety before seizure.
Institute seizure and safety precaution post seizure attack.
Administer oxygen inhalation
Provide suction apparatus
MEDICAL
Administer anti epileptic drugs as ordered
NURSING INTERVENTION
Provide neurological vital signs checked afterseizure
Reorient patient post seizure as patient may be confusef and disoriented.
Investigate report of pain
Allow postictal automatic behaviour without interfering while providing environmental protection.
Uphold strict bedrest if prodomal signs of aura experienced and explain necessity.
