Hemophilia A
Discription
Is a genetic deficiency in clotting factor VIII, which causes increased bleeding and usually affects males.
Pathophysiology
Is caused by an inherited or acquired genetic mutation that results in dysfunction or deficiency of factor VIII.

Signs and symptoms

Pain, swelling or tightness in your joints.

Unexplained and excessive bleeding from cuts or injuries, or after surgery or dental work.

Assess the location, characteristics, and rate of pain.

Pathophysiology
Is an inherited, X-linked, recessive disorder that results in deficiency of functional plasma coagulation factor IX.

Apply a cold compress to active bleeding sites, but must be used cautiously in young children to prevent skin breakdown.
