When a name, logo or mascot is to be chosen by a school, the school will form a representative committee to identify a potential name or names for approval by the principal. The committee will include: students, parents, teachers, administrators, and sometimes community members
Names, logos and mascots must be considerate of gender and cultural sensitivities. If a name, logo or mascot is representative of a specific cultural group, that group must be consulted. Nevertheless, a chosen name, logo or mascot must be acceptable to the broader community as well.
